Lifestyle Reporter, Culture Lover, and Socially Conscious Romantic

Some people move to New York to reinvent themselves. Others arrive already knowing exactly who they are.
Allison lives comfortably somewhere in between.

She grew up in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, a small town best known for hosting the Little League World Series. Baseball never quite captured her heart, but the town gave her something better. A close community, creative outlets, and a front row seat to a loving marriage between her parents.

They were truly best friends, and that example quietly shaped how Allison thinks about love.

As a kid, she was rarely sitting still for long. Violin lessons, theater productions, and creative projects filled her days. With only eighteen students in her graduating class at a tiny Catholic school, everyone knew each other well, which meant Allison learned early how to observe people and appreciate the small details that make someone interesting.

That curiosity eventually carried her to New York City.

Quick Takes With Allison

Q: What do you do, and what do you love about it?
I’m a lifestyle reporter, so I get to write about culture, experiences, and the kinds of adventures most people only read about. Occasionally, I get to try them myself.

One of my favorite assignments was attempting to audition for Cirque du Soleil at Madison Square Garden and writing about it afterward. Moments like that still make me pause and think about how lucky I am to tell stories for a living.

Q: How would you describe your personality?
I’d say I’m warm, perceptive, and quietly playful. I pay attention to people, to nuance, and to the little details others might miss.

I also don’t take myself too seriously. I once called 911 because I thought there was an intruder while house sitting. It turned out to be the Roomba.

Q: What values guide your life?
Two ideas have always stayed with me:

You have nothing to prove, only to share.
Interested people are interesting.

I try to move through the world with curiosity and empathy. My worldview leans progressive, and I care deeply about equity, respect, and understanding people whose lives look different from my own.

Q: What does love mean to you?
Love is about feeling known and safe. It’s having a best friend and a teammate.

The world can be challenging enough. A relationship should feel like a place where you can exhale.

Q: What are you looking for right now?
I’m dating with intention. I’m looking for my husband.

Not something dramatic or fleeting, but something steady, meaningful, and real.

Q: What kind of partner are you drawn to?
Someone kind, emotionally aware, and curious about the world.

A great sense of humor matters a lot to me, especially if it’s a little dry or dark but never at someone else’s expense. And I’m drawn to people who share a sense of social awareness and care about more than just themselves.

Q: What does a future with you look like?
It’s actually pretty simple.

Feeling known. Sharing small, private jokes. Building a life where both people feel supported and cared for.

Family is part of that too. I like to say I want one and a half kids. One is definite, two is negotiable.

Q: What makes you a great partner?
I’m thoughtful but also playful. I’m curious about the world, but deeply grounded in my relationships.

I show up for the people I care about, and I believe love is something you build intentionally.

Q: What do you believe about love stories?
The best ones rarely begin with fireworks.

They begin with two people who genuinely enjoy each other, laugh often, and choose to build something meaningful together.

And I’m ready for that.
